MARINE CORPS AIR STATION MIRAMAR

BASE SAFETY OFFICE

Mission: To provide a safe and healthful environment for all personnel working, living and visiting Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

The Station Safety Center is an integral part of risk assessment and loss prevention aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

Successful implementation of the Station's Safety Center's programs will support all commands aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar by:
1. Enhancing mission readiness
2. Reducing or eliminating injuries and equipment/property damage
3. Increasing personnel morale
4. Saving Money

Vehicle safety and occupational health courses are offered aboard for qualified personnel assigned to Miramar. Classes include:
Vehicle Safety
Drivers Improvement (monthly)
Remedial Drivers Improvement (monthly)
Basic Rider's Course (Motorcycle) (twice a month)
All Terrain Vehicle (monthly)
Experienced Rider's Course (monthly)
Dirt Bike Course (monthly)
Explosive Driver / MHE Course (monthly)
Occupational Safety and Health
10-Hour OSHA General Industry Outreach Course (monthly)
Safety Refresher Training (quarterly)
CPR (as requested)
Respirator "Fit Test" Course (monthly)
Confined Space Course (monthly)
